I got a response from and earlier question yesterday, thanks. Now my question is some what related, but a little more in detail.

What is the best way (procedure) of connecting an HD Dish Satellite box, Panasonic DVD/VCR recorder (with built in tuner), and LG HDTV.

The Satellite box has Component outs, HDMI out, A/V outs.
The DVD/VCR (with built in tuner) has Component outs, A/V ins and outs (front and back of the unit), HDMI out.

I'm trying to figure the best way to run all of this through my LG HDTV. I'm trying to get the best quality picture and video possible, plus run everything without creating any interference.

Also, I want to be able to record movies and TV programming on my DVD/VCR recorder to create my own library of movies/tv programming. I do a lot of RW recordings and re-use discs for TV programming, and I (only) create my own library of movies I want to own... I do not sell.

Please advise.

You mentioned the outputs from the satellite box, and the outputs from the DVD/VCR. You didn't mention the TV's inputs.

TV connections:

If the TV has the proper inupts, I would connect HDMI from both units to the TV. If there's only one HDMI connector on the TV, I would connect HDMI from the satellite box to the DVC/VCR and component video from the Satellite Box to the TV. You could do it the other way around (HDMI from the Satellite box to the TV), and it really wouldn't change anything -- at least not significant enough to see.

Satellite box to DVD/VCR:

I'm not sure if the tuner (ATSC or NTSC -- analog or digital tuner?) in the DVD/VCR is useful or not. I presume the satellite dish's tuner will be used mostly to tune in stations for the television. I'm not sure if your Satellite box has the capability of receiving two stations and sending a second signal to the DVD/VCR. The reason I had you consider connecting the HDMI cable to the DVD/VCR was in the hope that a signal could be sent across that for recording.

I just had Dish installed and one box services two tv's, one HD other regular watching. I found I cannot connect my panasoni vhs to record. I asked for their assistance and they tried to help without any luck. They told me to call you to see how I can connect it directly to the TV without connection to the dish box to be able to watch and record. This is a funny system witch I'm not familiar with and I hope you can help so I can keep on taping my programs. I hope I was thorough with my question.
