I saw a movie in th late 50's when I was a kid.

It was incredibly tense and suspenseful---only saw it once and never forgot it.

It was about a team of bomb de-fusers who were tasked with the job, in, I believe, post-WW II Germany.
I'm thinking that perhaps Jack Palance was in it , but am not certain

Go the Jack Palances' IMDB page and check it out. If you know round about what year just scroll down and check out the movies he was in then. Here's a link to his page. Jack Palance (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001588/)

If you think there is a possibility that the movie may have already been around
Awhile (several years) when you saw it, here's one about bomb disposal
Experts in WWII. The main character resembles Jack Palance:

The Small Back Room (1949) - The Criterion Collection (http://www.criterion.com/films/747)

You're talking about "Ten Seconds to Hell, 1959." As was mentioned above, the Internet Movie Database website is great for looking up that kind of stuff.
