Are you wanting to set it lower than 65?
Exactly what temp are you setting it for when it kicks the breaker
How old is a/c,, brand name ? And model number would help a lot
Has anyone used an amp-probe to see how many amps unit is pulling?
More details would help us to help you

The breaker kicks off when I have it at 75 and the air stops and tries to return back on.it's a goodman model #a42-10. Amp3.9/hp1/2.I do not know what year.no one has checked to see how many amps it's pulling.I have had 2 people over and they both told me something different.but it was not running when they told me.

Which breaker trips? The indoor unit circuit or the outdoor unit circuit?

The indoor unit not the one that turns the whole ac off the other one.
