Assalam-o-Alaikum Sir.

I was looking forward to ask you a question and get a satisfactory ans... I hope you would guide me and clear the ambiguities. Sir what I needed to ask is about the Wazifas that are told for the accomplishment of different tasks and completion of desires like the wazifas that are told for the removal of obstacles in education or proposals , that are done for finding perfect match or for getting perfect jobs etc. These wazifas include La ilaaha illa anta subhanaka inni qunto minazzwalimeen, Ya badeeol ajaaib-e-bil khair-e- you badee o etc. Are these allowed in Islam? Is there the concept of continuing these wazifas for a specific period and is the no. for recitation of wazifas specified or restricted? Please tell me about their status. Also is it true that for the recitation of these wazifas one need to seek permission from some Buzurg or religious and pious person dear to Allah? Please sir enlighhten me as soon as possible.

Anticipating for your reply.

Ve aleykumselam. There are many tesbihat (dua or zikr) that is recommended by Resulullah sallallahu aleyhi vesellem and evliya. The best zikr is salah (daily prayers). If you are not doing the daily prayers but just doing the tesbihat then that is not the right way. I'm not sure if they should be in exact numbers unless it is recommended by Resulullah. For instance Resullullah told us to say Subhanallah (33 times), Elhamdulillah (33 times) and Allahuekber (33 times) after daily salah. This I know that we should try to say them in exact numbers. If you miss the numbers unintentionally then it is forgiven. But otherwise it is not good to change it intentionally. I don't know if all the other tesbihat should be in exact numbers. Maybe someone who knows better than me can answer that.

Some tesbihat:

1. Estagfirullah (25 times)
2. Read Ihlas (3 times) and Fatiha and send it to Resullulah, Silsile-i Aliyye and all Muslims.
3. Estagfirullah (100 times)
4. La ilahe illallah (100 times)
5. Allah (1000 times)
5. Salavat (100 times, for instance Allahumme salli ala Muhammedin ve ala ali Muhammed)
6. Ihlas (100 times)
7. La havle vela kuvvete illa billahil aliyyil azim (100 times)
8. Subhanallahi vebihamdihi subhanallahil azim (100 times)

You can do these separately as well. There are also many others. Salaten tuncina is one of the strongest ones as recommended by scholars. You read it 4444 times and some scholars say that the numbers should be exact. You can also search for Kasideu Burde and Hizbul Bahr. I recommend you to get a dua book though I don't know any in English.

Even if you do all those, Allahu teala might not give you the thing you want. The things we ask might not be good for us. We might not know but Allah knows. There are certain things that are necessary and/or useful for our dua to be accepted:

1. Have the right faith of Islam (Ehli Sunnet, which is the path of Resulullah)
2. Do the fard ibadat and escape from haram.
3. Pray in valuable times (e.g. on the day of Cuma, on the night of Cuma, during the recitation of ezan (call for prayer), between ezan and ikamet, every day second half of the night, holy nights, etc.) . Those times are more valuable for our prayers to be accepted.
4. Pray by holding a firm belief that it is going to be accepted insallah. Don't be suspicious that it is not going to be accepted but you can be suspicious whether you met the criteria well. Even if you might not get what you want in this world, it will be accepted if you met those criteria and you will eventually see the benefit in the Hereafter insallah.
5. Pray a lot all the time not just when a musibet comes.
6. Seek for the reasons. If you want a job, work to get a job. Islam is not just praying and waiting from Allah. You seek for the right answers, go to a doctor, try to find a solution, work, etc. and then you pray Allah to give us the things we want. If Allah does not give that thing to us then it is better for us not to have it.

Also there might not always be perfect jobs and matches in this world as this life is not perfect. Another thing is asking only worldly things might not be very good. Getting a job should be for the sake of Allah and ahiret. Not the main purpose.

There is no need to get a permission from somebody. Try to recite them whenever you can. It is better if your heart is at peace.

Esselamun aleykum.
