Hi everyone

Hope you can help.

I've been working fine using a laptop & a desktop PC connecting wirelessly to the Internet.

Yesterday, I've noticed that on both PC's the Internet keeps dropping intermittently, then coming back on.

I've been in touch with the ISP, and they've done their checks etc and say that it's a PC problem with DNS settings.

I've not changed anything on the router IP address (192.168.2.1) which is a Belkin DLS router.

I've also gone through Network connections and the Signal Strength is fine, and no problems. I've then noticed that when the connection drops, I run the test and it does indicate that there is a problem with the DNS settings.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Try using OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/) for your DNS server instead of the ISP's. Feel free to check them out.

You can do this by changing the IP addresses of your Name Servers from whatever it is (you might make note of the original IPs) to those of OpenDNS:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

These may be on your computer, or in the router--change it wherever it is.

Good Luck,
WallyH

Another option for DNS servers- these are publicly available and easy to remember, which is why I use them :)
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.2.2.4
4.2.2.5
4.2.2.6
