A car traveling at 140km/hr is being chased by a trooper @ 150km/hr. If the trooper starts 2 km back, how long will it take the trooper to intercept the motorist?
I am having trouble setting up the problem... help.. Thanks!

Speed is relative, just subtract 140km/hour from each speed, that should make the answer obvious.

I don't have to take the 2km back into account?

It's as if the speeder's car is standing still and the trooper's car is traveling at the difference in speed. The 2km is how far the trooper has to travel.
