Hello
I'm 21 weeks pregnant and my nipples and breasts are hurting. Is this normal fro 21 weeks?
Even just taking a shower, it hurts my nipples. What can I do about the pain?

You can try warm compresses on them and see if that makes any difference. Sometimes a gentle massage might help as well. You can also use something like Tylenol for the pain if need be. Usually it will be short term, or perhaps sporadic in pregnancy. If it is continuous, and/or if your nipples appear to be discolored, it could be more than just normal nipple pain in pregnancy.

Doula, correct me if she is not far along enough for this yet.
But whne I was pregnant *it was much later in pregnacy* and my breats and nipples got sore, I would express an ounce from each breats with a pump, and this relieved A lot of the pain.
Don't DO THIS Until YOU KNOW FOR SURE ITS SAFE AT 21 WEEKS!

More than likely this situation isn't caused from engorgement, especially at this stage. As long as there is no fever or actual redness, which could be a sign of a breast infection and would need medical evaluation, it is likely due to the changes that take place in preparation for breastfeeding.
There are a few conditions that can occur during pregnancy, but they are treated the same way.
Oops, forgot to add: pumping may be more helpful at the end of pregnancy... it may or may not produce some contractions so for this reason it is best left for the last couple of weeks if needed to try and relieve any discomfort.
