So I'm reading the color purple... and I'm on page 10-ish and there's a lot of blanks like this (Mr. _______).. the whole entire book is filled with it.. so its confusing :confused: does anyone have an answer to why there blank?

Ohhhh... I understand now...

"Mr." is what Celie calls her husband. That's his nickname. You'll find out what his real name is later in the book.

Are there blanks other than "Mr. ___" because if not, then HistorianChick explained it.
