I am interested in purchasing a residential building with 6 units. 3 of the units are occupied by squatters. What are the legal remedies if any?

The absolute best thing you can do is make it a condition of the purchase that the seller have them removed, and that closing will occur after they're out.
If that's not possible then once you own the building you will have to give them noticed that their tenancies are terminated and they have 30 days to move out. If they haven't moved out within that time then you will have to file lawsuits for eviction.
