My RV is hooked up to a 50 amp electrical supply with one breaker at an RV Park. All electrical appliances seemed to be operating OK. I purchased a progressive model SSP-50 RV Smart Surge Protector. Upon hooking the surge protector up to the electrical supply without the RV connected I saw red lights that indicate an open ground. What are the potential problems by using the electrical hook up and what could be wrong.
Thanks for your help.

Any surge protection device must be grounded to operate properly in the event of a surge. Otherwise it will not do it's job when called for.

The reaosn for an open ground is simple, the grounding conductor is not connected properly, or al all, in this circuit or feeder. Could be as simple as a bare or green wire fell off in a junction box. Open each box, beginning at the panelboard, and any junction box, outlet box, etc, and check each bare or green wire for proper connection.

Notify office of RV park that they have problem with electric at your site. Let there electrician take care of it.

I would agree that you should not attempt to work on any part of the park's panel. You own and are responsible from the plug on down, nothing up stream should be touched by you.
