Hey, I was arrested for theft under (6$ worth of products) and possession of weed with intent to sell (under the limit)... this was because I had a few baggies of weed while I committed the theft.
Anyway I have no priors and have never been arrested for anything and I was let go the same day with promise to appear in court... I was wondering what charges I would be looking at??
These charges are separate and have separate court dates, the arresting officer told me that I would just walk for the theft under but I would have to do community service if convicted for the possession with intent since I'm a first timer and the fact that they don't care about weed ( those were his words I don't know if there's any truth to it)... the only way to avoid having a criminal record is being found not guilty?? Or could I make some sort of deal to do a lot of community serv. Hours or something? Any tips? Suggestions? Good lawyers in Toronto? Thanks in advance! :o

and the fact that they don't care about weed ( those were his words i dont know if there's any truth to it)....Hello b:

If they don't care about the weed, why did he arrest you for it?? Cops LIE. I HATE 'em!! Hire a lawyer. A drug conviction will be MUCH worse over the course of your lifetime than the piddly little community service they're going to want you to do...

Hire a GOOD lawyer.

Hello again, b:

It ain't cheap. Probably a couple grand if it's simple. It's well worth it.
