What will happen if I refuse to sign the divorce papers I know are coming?

Please people I need to know cause I don't want a divorce I love my husband with everything I have and I just can't let go.

You can contest the divorce but just because you don't sign doesn't mean it won't go through.

Why would you want to be with someone who wants to divorce you??

If you don't sign it will be long and drawn out, he will resent you horribly, your pain will drag on and on, and no matter what you do, eventually the divorced will be finalized, no matter what. Take it from someone who has been through it, my ex-wife tried not signing and it was a horrible mess. I divorced her because we married really young and although we were good friends I was never "in love" with her and I finally had to give up living a lie. I was hoping we could remain friends but when she wouldn't sign the papers I got very jaded and now we don't talk at all. Her not signing ruined any chance of us having any kind of relationship. My advice the quicker you sign the quicker you can start the healing process and move on to be happy single or find someone who truly loves you and wants to be with you.

It's over, accept it, otherwise these papers wouldn't be coming.
And yes at the moment your feeling hurt, sad and alone and your trying to cling on as tightly to what's left of the past as you can, but you know deep down you have to do it.

So just sign them and get on with your life... sure, it will hurt for awhile, but it will get better. :)

If you refuse to sign, he will get an attorney ( if he does not already have one) and they will file to go to court, you will be ordered to go to medication to say what you demand from th divorce, if you refuse to set any terms, it will go to the judge who will order you to sign, if you don't sign you can be held in contempt and placed in jail or fined.

You can draw it out, cost yourself 1000's in legal fees but you can't stop it
