What is the name of the book and why do you need to know the era that comes after the Romantic Era, please?

"la Petite Fadette" which is regarded as a romantic novel. I was hoping to have a witty introduction but I think I've tossed that idea
Now I just want to know what came after for kicks
I want to say the Victorian era but I don't know if that makes sense
