I am a male, 14 going on 15, and boy, do I LOVE writing. It's one of my favorite things to do. It's great, fun, and, people enjoy reading what I write. In fact, I write for a website. But, despite all this, my mom has to get in on everything and ruin it. I have a laptop, but it is currently being repaired. I got a laptop so I may type in the comfort of my own room. I am typing this on my Wii, but I type articles an stories on the computer, so it can be saved, copied, and pasted. But enough of that. Time for the main conflict for today.

I don't go well with noise while in the process of writing. It doesn't help the computer is in the kitchen. If it isn't my sister with her annoying, high pitched voice, it's the dishes clanking together while loading up in the dishwasher. I hate noise while writing. Period.

So, when I ask squeeze the edge of the computer moniter, my mom goes crazy, and grounds me for three days. Just for that. WHAT THE HECK! I mean, sure, I shouldn't have been squeezing that, but asking them to shut the heck up wouldn't do squat. They have no respect for me, or my typing habit. My sister dances (Probably practicing to be a lap dancer), and when she acts up, all she gets grounded off is the computer for a day. WHAT THE HECK! I mean, why not ground her off dance practice, like they are grounding me off writing? Oh wait. THEY DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT ME! What do I do to hadle this problem, because similar situations have happened before, and will likely continue to happen. I really enjoy writing, and when they take that away from me, well, it just plain sucks. It sucks badly. I try to stay as far away from her as I possibly can. Sometimes, I just want to punch her in her stupid mouth, and just make it all stop.

I know the teen years are among the hardest, and my parents understand that, but why can't they understand the crap they're pulling on me effects me ths way? And why can't they ground my **** of a sister?

Wow. I sense a lot of anger.

If you hate noise so much have you tried doing your writing elsewhere: outside, the library, your basement, your tree house [if you have one], your garage, etc.

I only write on computers though, and my laptop's being fixed. Writing with pencil and paper seems useless, because I'll have to copy it to the computer in the end... Why not just write it on the computer to begin with, and save the paper?

Maybe because writing it on paper will give you a chance to write in a quiet place, and having to copy it onto Word later will build character?

I wrote four books that got published while doing the writing on my computer that sits in the middle of an 800 sq ft house, in the dining room, in a traffic pattern, and next to a frequently-used TV set. Quit yer whining! Oh, yeah, and I did all the homework and papers for my master's degree on the same computer in the same space.

You said you have a laptop...
Why not use that in your room?

Or listen to some music through headphones if you don't like outside noise.

Sharing doesn't end once you grow up...

ZZZZZZZZZZZ... oh sorry you finished talking.. no, no I swear I was listening.

I have solved your problem, what you need to do is take a dollar with you to the chemist and walk in, I suppose you could jog in but why waste the energy and walk up to the counter and ask politely... remember ask politely or they might think your some wacked out teenager on drugs... or maybe that just happens to me :S
Anyway, you need to ask them for some "Ear Plugs", that way you won't have to listen to any noise your family makes, see simple.

Although it does have its drawbacks, your parents might think your ignoring them when there speaking to you and decide to ground you forever.

... Hey, I didn't say my plan was perfect.
