I've worked for a company for two years. I was paid 1099 misc. I was not a self contractor. I managed a department and drove a company vehicle. I had a set schedule that was made by my dept. head and had to report to someone daily. Will I be able to collect unemployment?

How could you have received a 1099 and not been a self employed individual? If your company did not deduct the proper taxes from your check and pay the matching taxes how do you qualify for unemployment? You don't.

You must have the proper taxes deducted from your paycheck each week in order to collect unemployment. Just because you worked somewhere for 2 years doesn't qualify you to collect it.

Hello c:

You apparently were happy that NO taxes were taken out of your paycheck. One of those taxes, however, was for unemployment. Since you didn't pay, you can't play.
