View Full Version : GEAR Selector on Jaguar

Hello! I have a Jaguar Sovereign (xj6 type)1995,4.0 litre model.
Increasingly,when I start up I attempt to move the gear selector into `drive`but it sticks and will not select.Eventually it usually does engage but after 20 minutes this morning!
I recently had the transmission oil changed to see if that would do the trick but to no avail.
I touch the brake pedal before engaging as per the owners manual but this doesn`t seem to make much differerence.
I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions! Alan M.

. Check all under dash and under hood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. See if your car has a Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) that needs replacing.
