Grass usually calms the dogs stomach, perhaps it had something that isn't sitting right.

I could be wrong as I'm no pet expert, but it's what the vet told me when my dog did it

You're right Rome.

Dogs will eat grass to help digest or to help induce vomiting. It's actually pretty amazing because the seem to know which grass to eat to aid in either one.

The main concern is fertilizer. If you fertilize your lawn make sure that your dog is not allowed to eat grass for a few days afterwards and a good watering or rain fall. The grass won't hurt your dog but the fertilizer will.

My dogs will eat certain weeds/grass for their tummies. I won't spray weed killer on the ones I know they eat and I always leave them some to eat, when I pull the rest.

They are now starting to eat the stuff that grows from my bird seed droppings:)

My dogs love the bird seed dropping stuff. It's a fav. :)

Yup, weeds, grass, dead grass, you name it. It's all good unless they go after my flowers, then we'll have a talk. ;)

They say that grass contains the vitamin B 17, something that aids in the prevention of cancer. Maybe we should all eat grass.

Dahlia, don't eat grass, just raw apricot pits. They contain the same B17. They are as bitter as anything else you've ever tried, but they are supposed to work. Look it up.

My idiots eat it out of boredom.

Sometimes it is because they have an upset stomach but usually Prada will eat it if I don't let her back inside.
Usually when it's "wee time" I make them go outside and if Prada runs back in without weeing I tell her to go back out. She usually ferrets around for a while, eats some grass and then wees

I HAve 3 dogs still always seem to have 4 at one time, but slowing down on the rescue dogs cause we are slowing down.. and getting busier. Our dogs eat the tall grass that grows around the edge of the fence. They are also mutts. They eat it when it is hot and their stomach s are a bit unsettled. Not a big deal all natural and this too shall pass.

Yes, I find the funniest BMS to pick up with the pooper scooper are the ones that look like the pinecone bird feeders kids make in daycare and early childhood... You know the ones they put peanut butter on then roll in birdseed? Ours love the leftovers the birds drop under the feeder! What is really bad is stopping a poop eating dog. I have had 3 out of the 9 we have had in 23 yrs. This last one eats and then releases it all over the house. (sorry for being so grosse) They say it is due to lack of something in their diet but they are on Imes dog food.
Hope this helped!:o

I have two poo eaters, I know how you feel, it is gross.

I was told it's because of their breed, and what the vet said really makes sense. The two poo eaters are a border collie and a beagle. The vet said that they eat the poo because they've been bred to. The border collie, being a herding dog, will eat the poo to prevent other animals from smelling his scent. The beagle, because he's a hunter, will eat his poo so that his prey will not smell him nearby.

Makes sense, but it's still gross. ;)
