Thank you Excon and JimGunther for your responses. Your input was very helpful but maby I wasn't too clear on what I Meant. Your right, it won't be a transfer because we want it to be established in NY. A lot of times with people I've known the system wants them to live with family when they are released. My Fiancé has to do 6 months in a halfway house as part of her sentence (upon Release). IF they were to assign her to a halfway and probation office upon release it would be in Tennessee (her previous residence) She knows she will be on probation for 5 years also as part of her Federal guidelines. What your telling me is there is someone in that jail where she is that is strictly involved with the probation assignments? Im sorry if I seem repetitive but I have never been involved with the details of someone's release. How easy is it to be assigned to another state? She has me and my family that can assure her place to live and no one in my immediate family who she will be associated with has any type of record or prior charges. Once again I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself. Can we just contact the federal probation office and have all of this straightened out by her release? Thank you so much for your help... Its very much appreciated!

Hello J:

SOMEBODY, whether it be her "unit team", or a person in jail, works for the probation department and is in charge of her case. YOU need to find that person. Yes, it may take a few phone calls.Hello again, j:

Please keep all your questions on ONE thread...

I don't know WHERE the people are who are in charge of her case. If they're NOT at the jail, they're somewhere. You need to FIND them wherever they are. SOMEBODY is making decisions on her behalf. SOMEBODY told the halfway house that she's arriving. Find out WHO.
