My John Deere L110 won't start for the 5th summer now. It's been in for repairs each summer to resolve this problem, they've changed this and that, but the problem keeps coming back. Sometimes it will start, but most times it does nothing (once in a great while it clicks). This summer, 1st start, nothing. Battery shows 95% charge. I used the battery charger to quick start it by pushing 100Amps through the system. Didn't want to start at first after several attempts, but finally did start. After cutting lawn, would not start. Contacted JD and their answer was "TS" go back to the dealer.

Do you live in cold weather climate during winter months?

If so, do you take battery out of tractor and store inside with trickle charger?

I may have had similar problem to you... not sure.

My JD was stored in shed, and forgot to take out battery, it froze... brought inside thawed it and charged it to full capacity and put battery into tractor and the tractor seemed to have power but it would only click and not turn over... it was found that letting battery freeze damages cells and even if it is charged cannot deliver enough amps to turn over tractor... new battery fixed problem immediately
Good luck

If you hear nothing at all, it's probably one of the 'permissive' switches. Check the seat switch. Not sure on what all they monitor but if nothing at all happens, maybe the starter solenoid has an intermittent problem. Check all the connections.

When you say
Didn't want to start at first after several attempts

Tell us exactly what was happening. Did it crank really slow? Did it crank and then all of the sudden stop? Did it not crank at all? etc...

Also, what engine is in the mower?
