I've got a bathroom that is not used too often, we do try & flush the toilet in that bathroom. But never thought about the faucets. The bath tub faucet is working for hot & cold. But the sink is not working? I've turn on the hot & the cold & water will not come out. I know this may be a simple thing (I hope) but don't know what to try. I don't want to keep turning it on & off & possible make things worse. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm not a plumber so talk to me like I'm in elementry school. :)
Thanks in advance.

Are the under-sink shut-offs turned off? If not, are there shut-offs in the basement or crawl-space that are turned off?

If not, there is a significant blockage in the pipe or in the faucet. I'll let the master plumbers here tell you what to do.

Perito has given you a place to start. Check to see if there are shut offs under the sink, if so try to turn counterclockwise. Also check in basement for other offs. It would be very unusual for both hot and clod to clog. Try removing the aerator on the tip of the spigot. Come back and tell us what you found.

Hi Miki,

Both Bob and Perito have given you good advices to start with, if that would not work, I will add one more thing to isolate the problem if it is the faucet or the water lines, get a bucket close either hot or cold angle valve under the sink, place the bucket under the angle valve to catch the water, open the line at the angle valve, and open the angle valve gradually see if you getting water if you do, the problem is with your faucet if not continue with the water line and find where is the blockage, also if you tell us the Brand and the model number of your faucet will be great, Thanks.

Agree with posters above: Aerator is a good start. It probably has some dirt / sediment in it.
