:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
My daughter has a 1993 Nissan Sentra 1.6L. On one of our very cold days, her car would not start. Prior to this , the car ran fine! She had it towed to her favorite garage where they diagnosed a timing chain problem!
Yes, this model/year does in fact have a chain... I thought that a chain was sturdier than a belt and would have a longer life ! The mechanic advanced the timing as much as possible and the car now runs..
However, it turns over on real cold days but is reluctant to start.. The mechanic recommends parking in a garage in cold weather. This timing adjustment is a temporary fix till my daughter decides whether to trade in this vehicle, or get it repaired. She has been quoted a repair estimate of $1,000; and 2 mechanics said that they did not want the job! I'm wondering if possibly a sensor or something else might be the problem.. The car only has 80K and has been always maintained and cared for>>
Thanks for the help/advice.
