Have a Bolens bl100 weed eater. Can't seem to keep the thing running. It is roughly a year old. Has run just fine up to this point. Put the carb choke on 1... pull the cord 5 times until the engine kicks over and wants to run. Then I move the carb choke on 2 and pull the cord. The engine runs for 10 seconds or less and then dies. Subsequent attempts to get the weed eater to run fail. Help!?

Did you leave gas in it all winter? Try higher octane w/ carb. Cleaner or Sea foam additive. Keep pumping the bulb to push gas into carb. Shouldn't have fuel line or muffler problems yet. Make sure fuel lines are tight. Too much air sometimes causes your problem. Good luck

Hi,
Most common problem with that is the inlet screen, especilly if it is a Dutch twill screen.

Get rid of it and get a good brand. I've had nothing but problems with mine ever since I got it 2 years ago and I'll bet it hasn't been used over 5 times and not for long then. It should be called what it is... a worthless piece of .

Add a product name Sea Foam it can be bought at Wal-Marts. Also the carb does get gummed up if you don't run it out of gas before storing. If that is the case remove and you don't know how to clean a carb take it to a local repair shop to be cleaned. It might cost mopre but it will not give you a headache
