Custom Tile Tub

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speedball,
I saw your post about custom tile tubs. Thanks for the positive remarks on the tile showers and tubs. Everywhere else that I have read about them say that they are better used for "planters" and really rip on them. If you ask me there is no comparison between a drop in and a custom. But I was wondering if you would be able to point me in the right direction on how exactly you go about building one (a book with descriptions would be nice but I'll take what I can get). I would like to do a tub and a separate shower in my master bathroom but I want to make sure they are done right and won't leak. Any help would be awesome and any hints on the best place to get the materials needed.
Thanks

Ya got to realize that plumbers do not build custom showers. All we do is plumb to them and install the shower pan, drain and shower valve.
You build a shower different on the slab from one on the first or second floor.
If you let me know where the fixtures will be placed and the drainage layout in the room perhaps I can help. You are talking three trades here. Plumbing, carpenter and tile. Do you have the tools and necessary skills to go ahead on this? Regards, Tom
