I want a small tattoo behind my ear, but I was just wondering if it's dangerous. I'm getting my helix pierced at a tattoo parlor because if they pierce it wrong and hit a nerve, then you could end up with the whole side of your face paralyzed. And tattoo parlors use needles so they can be more precise with where they are putting the piercings, unlike other places that use those chunky guns.
So would you hit any important nerves with a tattoo behind the ear? I know people have tattoos behind their ears, but is it really risky?

I have one behind each of my ears. I had no problems with infection or anything. In fact, they were my first tattoos and they didn't really hurt much at all. Just make sure where you are going is clean and you shouldn't have any problems at all. I have never heard of it being dangerous, and mine went perfectly fine so go for it!
