Hi, I'm trying to find out who is my biological father. My mother will not tell me and she keeps saying that my step dad is my father. Over the past years, I've asked the same question and she now says I don't know. Every year she gives me a last name and I'm sick of it. Is there a way that I can take some kind of test to see if my DNA can match up with someone? I would like to know my ancestors and who I'm really am. I sometimes get the filling that my mother was raped and she don't want me to know, or that my father is someone related to my mother. Please help, I want to know the truth!

Your mother could have any one of several reasons for not wanting to tell you. You really need to respect that as much as it hurts.

There are no tests you can take without the 'alleged' dads actually taking a paternity test.

Some times you just have to leave it go. Maybe when you are older you might run into the truth. For now you know your mother won't tell you and she most likely has her personal reasons whether it is rape, or she doesn't want to be reminded of her past mistake or she feels that he was a no good so and so.

I feel for you because most of the kids where I live have no idea who their father is.
When I was growing up it was much rarer to not know who your father was but I remember the teenagers that didn't have fathers would say they need to 'find themself' by finding their fathers to learn their roots.
I never really understood this because to me you need to be your own person and your family tree doesn't really make you any more than you already are.
It can fill an empty spot but we all have our empty spots in one form or another.
