My license was suspended due to unpaid child support payments prior to me receiveing SSI in westchester county. Can the suspension be lifted because I am on SSI?

I highly doubt it.
If you need your license to get to dr appt or get medicines they would probably tell you to find another way to get there.

If the License is suspended in NY, no, you cannot have it reinstated until your child support is paid. This never makes sense to me when the person is employed (how can you get to work without a vehicle - ?) but in your case it does not matter.
As has been said you will need another way to get to your appointments.
And if you drive unlicensed the State doesn't fool around and you will go to jail.

Mostly its going to depend on the state your involved with. At a minimum you need to go back to court and seek a modification. Many states will at least give it back if you start making payments. Their main concern is the flow of money.

As stated before it really depends on the state not so much the county. You need to go back to court to have it done but I know in my state that if you are on SSI then no support is ordered (current support will be terminated until you are off SSI if that happens). You are still responsible for any arrears that accumulated before you were awarded SSI but again because of the SSI you won't be ordered to pay the arrears it will just show on your credit and what-not.
