My boyfriend and I want to get married before he deploys to Iraq next month for a year. Im only 19 any my parents would not agree with this. I was wondering that if my husband and I both claimed single, would my parents still be able to claim me on their taxes since I am living with them and they are my sole provider for the year my husband is gone? I'm not changing my last name or anything until he comes back from Iraq so hopefully my parents will be more understanding about it at that time. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

So are you trying to hide the fact you are married from your parents ?
If you can't tell your parents that you are goig to get married you are not old enough or mature enough to get married.
Sorry no this will not work

What do you mean "claimed single?" If you file for withholding based on single, no problem. If you intend to falsify your tax returns by claiming you are single, yes, it's a felony.
And I agree - if you aren't mature enough to tell your parents you are married, instead both you and your boyfriend are planning on this particular scam, then you aren't mature enough to get married in the first place.
