HI there,

I did this once before, and it was a big success. POST PICTURES OF YOUR PET. Tell us their name, age, and breed specifics. The first time that I did this I had a chihuahua, Susan. Hence, my screen name.

And this is my new baby girl, Marilyn.

Mine had never had a lot of animals, his family had 2 dogs and that was it.
I have converted him! It was his idea to get the last 2 rabbits!

An army if fun. I don't work so they are my daily company :)

This is the first dog that my love has had and he's in love with her. He's having a blast teaching her every trick he can think of. She's BRILLIANT. She'll be 5 months old on June 3. These are the things that she knows:
-sit
-stay
-leave it (if someone drops food or something and she runs toward it, you say leave it and she comes back and sits by your feet and waits for the next command)
-lay down
-roll over
-shake
-high five
-fetch
-stand up

Only one is really fat, and he's earned it. Any cat who lives to be 21 years old has earned the right to eat as much as he wants. The rest of them just got a little rounder after getting fixed. I love my kitties and as long as they're healthy I see no reason to try to put them on a diet.

shazamataz
Jun 27, 2009, 06:01 AM
Haha very true, at 21 he should be having anything he wants!
I'm going to put on my 'serious' face when I say they are healthier when they aren't chubby though, but it is entirely up to you, your last one lived to (at least) 21 so you must be doing something right!

Zoe - I haven't seen a merle like her before, she's gorgeous.

Unky - Thanks! They are the best dogs on cold nights when they are in show coat... so cuddly!

I am going to pre-appologise now for my pet photos.

After losing my two Maltese I didn't think I wanted another dog until I spotted a picture of Bandit in our local paper. Bandit was a "rescue dog" that had been turned in by four families and was due to be put down if he couldn't be placed. He had the reputation of being a "biter and a runner" .
When I got him he lived up to his reputation. The second night I got bit removing a sandspur from his paw. We had a rather lively discussion about who was going to be "Alpha Dog " in my house after that. The next night he pooped on the floor. He knew he was in trouble so when I open the door he scooted out. I guess he must have thought it over because he came back in ten minutes.
That was five years ago and Bandit's morphed from a " biter and a runner " into a big "kisser and snuggler" He's a happy dog now.
Bandit's found his :""forever home". And that's my dog story. Rgards to all, Tom

Laser Pointer+ Pet=Hours of hilarity.
One funny thing our border collie does is whenever somebody sings a song or a tune from a TV show
(Our favourite one to tease her with is the Doctor Who tune)
She runs around the house barking.
She also does the same thing whenever dad sneezes.

shazamataz
Aug 2, 2009, 01:34 AM
Haha, yep laser pointers are hours of fun!

I was just holding the camera in one hand and the laser pointer in the other Unky.
I was standing up so that's probably why it didn't shine on Prada.

Part 1 wasn't as good, the lights in my dining room aren't very bright that's why we moved to the kitchen for part 2 :D

Prada is a little cow, she runs up and tries to bite him all the time and ruin his fun :D

Once, I was playing with my dog. I made a small ball roll on the ground quite quickly, and my dog would go after it, and bring it back, then 'fight' before letting the ball go. Once, the ball bounced with a small 'step' (some millimetres high) and returned in the other direction. As she ran, she sort of 'braked' but since she was then on ceramic, she kind of slided forward. The way she looked was too funny! :p

So we took the dogs fishing last week this dog "frito'
Just wore himself ragged pacing up and down this bulkhead
He doesn't like the water and he thought this was soo great he could look down and see the water splash right up to it and not get wet i had a good fishing lie going on tell folks he was gaurding the poles
We call frito our retarded looking dog he has weird feet that don't match a broke ear but a great personality and is very protective

Here's some snaps of the wascaly wabbits...

First one - What the two evil black ones have done to their cage!! That is the 5th hole and the final straw, we got some non slip tiles and are putting them in on the weekend!

Second one - The two evil rabbits, that hay that is on the ground was ties up and hanging from the side of their cage (you can see it in the first pic), of coarse, they ripped it all out and threw it on the floor

Third one - How to make a rabbit fall asleep, scratch it's cheek!

Last one - Mmmmmm woood, yummy!

Thanks Unknown and Shaz. His hair is soft as a baby's behind, and what a personality he has. We just love this puppy.

He has brought such joy to our home; even if he is a little crazy at times!! When he wants his way he can be a real handful. Runs around the house in circles at top speed until he gets what he wants. ;)

Buddy's way of saying, "Hey, can't you understand me!!!" I need a drink from the faucet now, you guys! :D

We have really enjoyed looking at all of your animal pix, also. They are just beautiful, and the nail polish is a scream! I love it. :p

Oh and yeah /sigh I'm just a brunette no streaks of white yet although I'm sure they'll appear soon enough lol and yes Lukes eyes are so deep and thoughtful but you know he's half lab and golden and both of those breeds have those beautiful big puppy dog eyes.

Second one - The two evil rabbits, that hay that is on the ground was ties up and hanging from the side of their cage (you can see it in the first pic), of coarse, they ripped it all out and threw it on the floor

Third one - How to make a rabbit fall asleep, scratch it's cheek!

Yep... I know that dogs with that coloring are called brindle. I think they're pretty much "mutts". I wish I knew more about them, but I found them when they were already adults, except for the short-haired one... she wasn't her full adult size, so I guessed her at about ten months when I found her. I think the fluffy one is her mother.

OK guys here is the dog I used to have and a picture of me when I sewed. The nose was a ping-pong ball with a light init. This was a very long time ago.

Now we have digital converter boxes. Then we had B & W TV's and UHF converter boxes.
The couger lamp was glass and it was stollen. I'd love to find another. Consider than an APB has been posted about the lamp.

In one pic in front of the TV the dog is patiently begging.

The dog aparently wasn't to photogenic. I barely remember any real pictures of him. I found a few more shots of pieces of him. I had the sides scanned and I collor corrected them and reducted the size. The shop had to do it three times. An overzealos employee did it and missed most of the pic. Slides are huge. Then they did it again and the CD contained only one pic and finally the right pics.

In the other pic he is sleeping soundly next to me. The sleeping bag still exists, althugh the zipper is broken. I still sleep with it. Call it a comforter.

For fun, I posted a pic of me in a more happier time. Holloween. I made my own costume. Sewed and all.

I need your help though in Identifying the breed

I think it's a Labrador and cocker spaniel hybrid or Spanador. Spanador, Spanadors, Lab Cocker Hybrid (http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/spanador.htm) We were told he was a Britney Spaniel.
I'm almost sure he has labrador in him.

See, I'm a dog lover at heart. And a fish tank too. The tanks are built into an old TV cabinet with rollers. The top was a breeding tank and there is a second tank below. The pumps were all under the cabinet. Still exists without fish.

PS: The Japanease paintings were paint by number. I did them when I was about 6 years old. st time ding paint by numbers.

I'm going with clown:confused: almost scary, but great costume (maybe it's your smile)

The pup is great looking, have no clue what it is, but doesn't look like what they said it was.

I could barely see the fish tank and feeding tank and I can't see the paint by numbers. I really love those old pictures of paint by numbers. I think I'm going to have to get one, next trip to the store if they still have them.:)

Oh and I can tell by the furniture that it was a long time ago, looks like the stuff I had when I was growing up. Loved that memory:D

Yeah, if anyone has good ideas on how to introduce a puppy to a dog about a year old, I'm all ears. I don't want Zoe to have jealousy issues at all. The main reason we wanted to get another dog is so Zoe has a playmate. Zoe won't be ignored, so that's not an issue, but I don't want to give them too much freedom at first. I don't want to leave them alone together unattended until Harley is bigger and we know they're OK together.

My suggestion would be to invest in a baby gate and a puppy pen... best two things I ever bought.

Start introducing them outside with Zoe on a leash and the pup in the puppy pen.

That way you have full control of what is going on and no-one gets hurt, intentionally or accidentally.

Introducing them on neutral ground would be best but parks are out because the pup wouldn't have all her vaccinations.
Your front yard would be your best bet (providing zoe usually goes in the backyard)

Once they have been introduced outside you can bring them into "Zoes house" and have the babygate separating them.

Eventually when they have both calmed down and gotten used to each other you can introduce them completely.

That's how I would do it, but of coarse, you can adapt it to what suits you best :)

Anyway, the we kept the pups for a week or so, they were so cute!! My mom would allow us to keep more dogs though. Providing food for one dog was much, and for two...

I know the feeling there, I think we spend more $$$ a week on dog food than we do food for ourselves

Good ideas! Thanks! We have baby gates and pens already so that's not an issue. When we get her she will be vaccinated though. Maybe a park isn't a bad idea. I thought about maybe taking Zoe over to the breeder's house when we pick her up.

Excellent, pens and gates are a lifesaver with a new pup.
Their last vaccination isn't until they are aeound 12 weeks so it's best to avoid areas where strange dogs have been until then ;)

Well, first here is a video I took today of Brody...
We went to the dog park and let him and my other dog Prada off leash... he spent almost the entire time running up and down the fence chasing cars that were on the other side.. oh and getting his legs completely COVERED with mud

Haha I wanted to edit us talking out of it but couldn't figure out how

He is completely insane... He kept doing it more but the batteries on my camera died so I only got a short video.

Prada was right up the other end of the field rolling in something gross so she didn't make it on camera

As long as he doesn't want you to hold a wake for it when it finally dies, all should be okay.

Yes don't worry, it doesn't look like it on the video but the whole place is secure ;)

There is this metal/wire fencing, like cattle stuff... big squares and really strong...
Then up against that there is also chicken wire to stop any small dogs getting out.

Right next to the dog park is a wildlife reserve so the local council makes sure the fences are always perfect.

Bingo is so cute!!

I used to dislike the hair being left on their faces, (used to seeing show dogs) but it has definitely grown on me... I have been leaving my poodles hair longer on their faces lately, I think it looks sweet :)

And yep Unky, that's Brody in my avatar, it's my favourite photo of him :)

Why do white dogs like running through mud puddles so much? :)

Prada does seem to like a trot better than a run. However, she looks like she was having fun. Brody definitely was. :)

shazamataz
Oct 5, 2009, 11:43 AM
Yes white dogs seem to be magnetised to mud

Prada is very much a couch potato, usually when we go to the park she just trots around sniffing the ground.. that's the first time we have taken a squeeky :D

That's a great video, I haven't watched it because you said you were going to scream and I was at work. You didn't scream or my speakers are really low.
The pups are beautiful and I really wish I had a park like that around here. The ones we have are usually filled with dogs and I don't trust the owners. They have such a good time running at my brothers house and he only has about 20 yards length. Coogle runs like a bunny rabbit (up and down) and bingo runs like a bullet.:D

Brody will bounce up and down when he runs at home but Prada skims along the ground :D

I love that park, it's almost half an hours drive away but it's worth it, we go there once or twice a week.
We have only ever seen other people there twice... once was a big cross bred that kept trying to give me his ball and the other time there were 2 chihuahuas!
