I am painting a bare wood table and chairs for my son's room. I have primed it and was advised to use exterior gloss for tough finish. Trouble is I've done two coats of this on a small bit and it has a rather sticky finish, I can't imagine its going to be any good to lean a notebook on. I'm wondering whether this is because its specially made for outdoors. I intend to sand it down again and repaint with a satin paint. But I want a really bright red colour and am wondering if there are any special craft paints I should be using or just an ordinary dulux satinwood if I can get it in a bright red.
Can you help
Thanks

If your product was a water based latex it will peel in days!! Try to use an interior enamel that is oil based. It is rock hard tough, yet it takes more time to completely cure.
