In your home or their home
Is it for a evening out, or for full time while you work,
What country do you live in, and if the US what state

Hi, Megan2345!
Also, how many children that are being attended to will make a difference in how much the babysitter makes.
Thanks!

We pay our baby sitter 8/hr in our home plus tip to watch 2 kids, 3 and 15 mo. They sleep the whole time though so its really quite easy.
A lot is going to depend on where you are and how many kids.

Oh old is the babysitter?
Is it for lesiure time or for you to be able to work?
I work full time and my babysitter get paid $100 a week. It is actually a discount because she runs her own daycare and is the mother of my child's godmother.

Everyone makes good points... the ages of the children factors into it as well. Also do any kids have special needs? What are you required to do- are the meals already prepared or will the sitter be required to prepare them and clean up afterwards.
Are you the babysitter or are you a parent looking to hire a sitter?
If you're the parent, decide what you think is fair based on what your child's specific needs are, the amount of time, and other duties if any.

I'm wondering how much to charge. Watching one 9 month old at their house. I'm in Minnesota.

6 or 7 I would venture to guess. Maybe a bit more if you are close to the cities.
A 9 month old is tough - has both baby and toddler quirks.
But if this is your first paying job, it might not be a bad idea to go on the cheaper side to establish a good relationship with the family and a good reference for other jobs.
