I'm thinking that something is wrong because two cubed is not equal to 16: 2^3 \ne 16
Squared is a number to the second power: 2^2=4
Cubed is a number to the third power: 2^3=8
Additional powers are usually said to be "to the nth power". For example,
2^4=16
because
2\times 2\times 2\times2= 16
2 \times 2 = 4\, and \, 4\times2 = 8\,and\,8 \times 2 = 16
