Hello!, My name is Megan and this is my story and calling for HELP! I got married when I turned 19 to my husband who was 34, and only knew him for 30 days now I'm 24 and he's 40 and have 2 beautiful kids together. For the last 5 years I've been mentially and fisically beaten by him, I finaly got the strength to leave and filing for DIVORCE, But now he's saying I abandoned our kids and other things and wouldn't let me see my kids unless I pay him!!! Well, now he un-rolled our daughter from school, sold and gave away almost all my furiture and the worst part he took my kid's out of state and moved to Missouri, without me and my family knowing and I didn't get to say bye or anything to my baby's so my question is what can I do to see and get my kids back since i'm in Tx. and he's now in Missouri and I don't have the car or job now??

If you have filed for divorce and custody, go back to court and tell them that he has illegally moved your children. If you have not filed for custody, do so... today.

Your current court has jurisdiction until he meets residency requirements in MO (6 months, probably). Him fleeing with the children is actually illegal so will likely be ordered by court to return them. In addition, any property sold after your separation will have to be accounted for in the divorce agreement and you are entitled to as least 50% of it.

Have you gotten a lawyer yet?

Residency requirement is ninety days in MO, so get your behind in gear.

If he files in MO as residence you will have to attend court there.

You need to file immediately so that he will have to return with the children. They will also set forth a visitation arrangement so that you are not at his will.
