My blower motor relay burned out and I replaced it with a universal relay. It has R, G, W, Y, and C. I got the wiring right for the furnace but I don't know where the wires for the air compressor go. The wires from the compressor are red, white, green and blue. I put the red wire on the W and the red on the Y. Blower starts on furnace when I turn thermostat on cool but compressor does not kick on. Any suggestions?

Turn the power off to the outside unit remove the cover and see what wires are being used. You replaced more than a blower relay if you had to disconnect that many low voltage wires.

The red and white wire are being used. The green and blue are routed to another box and are not connected to anything

Sorry the post says I hooked the red wire twice. It was supposed to say the red is hooked to the Y and the white is to the C

The only simple thing left to do is make sure the breaker is on going to the A/C unit.

Does the wiring sound right to you? Red to Y white to C?

Yes with just two wires it will not make a difference. They are not polarity correct. They can go either way.

I put the red wire on the W and the red on the Y.

Check your wiring again. Did you connect outdoor unit circuit to "Y" and "W", or "Y" and "C"? The second combination is correct.
