Hello wingers:
I don't know... When real bad guys commit real bad crimes and then run away, don't we try to get them back here as soon as possible, so they can face justice in OUR system?? I think we do... We're not happy with them being in jail in OTHER country's... Nahhh, we want 'em right here in OUR slammers...
But, we don't want THESE guys. We're chicken...
I don't know wassa matter. What?? You don't think we know how to imprison people?? Bwa, ha ha ha ha.
But, when it comes the THESE bad guys, you're scared out of your wits... Not in MY back yard, you say, while at the same time having real bad guys in your back yard...
I though you righty's were big and tough... Guess not.. I ain't NEVER going to figure you guys out.

Excusalate me. I meant ANY fearful, chickenhawk, of ANY political persuasion, who's a scairdy cat...
Truth is, being afraid of terrorists in our prisons, is one of the dumbest, most ridiculous things I've ever heard of... And, I've seen some pretty ridiculous things right here on this board...
But, THIS takes the cake for absolute, through the looking glass, kind of stuff..

Then Obama should house them at the Whitehouse, or you, EX, should have them in your home?

Inthebox, that's just an irrelevant argument that makes no sense. Silly really.
There is a big difference between these people being in high security prison or a citizens home. Surely you can come up with something better than that??

These are not criminals they are prisoners... prisoners who need military justice and /or punishment. GITMO serves quite well for their detention unil that just is administered.

Let me see, they were POW's, the war is over? So they get released and sent home, is that not how it works
Or at least we are turning the war over to the government of Iraq, so we turn the prisoners over to them, it was their nation that these people were fighting against anyway.

Last I heard the Dems only wanted them in two of our prisons and they were BOTH full.
Some say they do not want them in our prisons because then they could
A. Convert some of our prisoners to be terrorists.
B. Take some of our prisoners hostage and cause problems.

The prisoners at gitmo were not all fighting in iraq most of them were fighting in afganistan or caught in pakistan. Why would we hand them to iraq?

I don't think you quite understand what supermax is. One is locked up in a cell for 23 hours a day. Meals are served in their cell. For the one hour they're let out, they shower and throw a basketball around - ALONE. They do NOT mingle with other convicts.
Given the above, I'm sure you righty's are still scared of 'em.

But that isn't the real concern. The concern is that they would be placed in the jurisdiction of some activist judge who would release them or relesed them into the general prison population.
The recent attempt by jihadists recruited in prison, on a synagogue in Riverdale ,and their attempt to purchase anti aircraft missiles to take out planes flying out of Stewart Base illustrate the concern.

You keep ignoring the obvious.
These guys aren't criminals. They're POWs. IF they were criminals, then yes, you would have a good argument. But they're not criminals, they're enemies. There is a vast legal, moral, ethical and historical difference between the two. And that differernce is an inconvenient truth that you just can't argue against, because there is no argument against it. So instead you ignore it.
Well, I ain't going to let you get away with ignoring it.

You can't have POW's that you're going hold till the end of the war, when you've declared the war on terror will NEVER end.
Therefore, they AIN'T POW'S. If we're going to hold 'em FOREVER, we're going to have to try them for their supposed crimes, or let them go. But, we don't hold people FOREVER.
Maybe in your version of this great country we do, but NOT in mine.
