One of my oldest and dearest friends is upset and depressed because she is still single and not married. She is constantly whining about not having a man, and she is always saying she won't get one because she is 27 and she has never been asked out. I think that she thinks it has something to do with her weight. I tell her she is a beautiful girl inside and out and that any man would be happy to have her. I also keep trying to tell her to wait and it will happen in due time but home girl won't believe me. Can any give me some suggestions on what to tell her so will stop being so depressed.

Tell her how she can make herself happy, by doing what she enjoys. Then guide her through the process of what makes her happy.

Real depression is something a doctor has to deal with, but being unhappy is an attitude that can be changed.
