I read another post where someone had a problem with a smell under the sink. Following the advice giving by the folks that answered the query, I discovered the source ouf our smell. The drainage pipe has a leak and the standing water underneath the house was putrid. It was only a 2x2 sized puddled and some had water had sunk into the ground, but it was bad.

My question: Until I get the leak fixed is there a safe way to neutralize the smell? Can I pour bleach or lime down there to kill the smelly germs? Once I get the leaked fixed it would also be nice to put something down there to eradicate the smell.

Thanks for the help!

Yes, leaking sewer pipe may be another source of smell.

What we do in this situation, we spread plasterer's LIME over the wet area. Lime will make it dry very fast and will neutralize it. No flies, no bugs. Always wear good respirator mask, goggles and gloves when spreading lime. All can be purchased in Home Depot, Lowe's.
