I have a older teak dining table and I noticed that my cleaning people made whiter spots on the table. Spots look like splashes or like something was dripping from the bottle. They denied (of course) doing anything, so I don't know what caused it. Is there anything I can do or buy to remove them.
Please help me!!

I have always sanded a complete area with mineral spirits and then teak oil again. It works for me.

Do you mean that it has a teak oil finish or that the wood is teakwood or both, please? It would be helpful to know about that.

What I mean is - I don't put any oil on it, so whatever finish was on the table it is from the beginning. I don't preserve it in any way, just dust it with dry cloth. But... now it has those light spots, which look like bleached and I have no idea how to remove them. I've read on the internet that teak wood is very resistant to everything and actually they suggest to wash it with bleach and water if you want to clean it, so I'm assuming that bleach would not do any damage. Would ammonia in windex cause any discoloration it teak wood? I don't know what my cleaning people did, so I'm just guessing.
Please let me know what to do? Thanks.

Piecyk, I have solid teak tables. As I mentioned before, I clean them with mineral spirits (from hardware store and easily available). Yes, teak is a marvelous wood and water resistant if treated correctly, that is why they use it on boats. Probably your cleaners spilled some kind of chemical based cleaner, therefore the white marks. No, don't use anything with amonia.

So, again, mineral spirits, wipe down your table and buy teak oil (google it if necessary to find it in your area), possibly a boat cleaning outlet would have it; I am sure you can find it.
