I am permenantyl disabled and I receive social security payments. I owe 16,000 on my credit card. I own my mobile home with a second mortgage of 19,000. I am divorced for 32 years. I cannot afford to pay this debt, and I only own my home. Can they take my home? I live in Pensylvania, and is there a statute of limitations for them to try to collect this debt? I really don't know how they approved me for this card, I listed my employment as social security.

Hello lady:

You should start your own thread. It'll work better for you that way.

They can probably put a lien in third position on your mobile home... But, I doubt they will. No, you won't be put out.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Generally a primary residence is exempt from attachment for unsecured debt.

You ask how they approved you, Not everyon on SS is living on a subsistence level. The question is why were you so irresponsible in using the card to build up a debt you can't manage?
