What is the standard height for chair rail molding

No standard since chair rail is pretty much just a decorative feature without function. Most folks go with 38".

Hi Pat
The height is relative to whether it is for show or functional.
I usually install at 32'' when ceiling is 8' and 36'' when ceiling is 9' or higher.
