Can I give my 9 yr old son Aleve? He weighs over 110 lbs and is almost 5 ft tall. He is a big athlete and frequently has lingering muscle injuries or inflammation that I know will be helped by this over the counter medicine. Can you tell me the correct dosage for him? I know the label on the bottle says do not use under 12 yrs old but my son is even bigger than most 12 yr olds.

Because the tables are sustained release, you cannot cut them. It is available in a liguid form where the dosage can be tailored.
Information suggests using the lowest theraputic dose. 110 lbs is close to some female adults in weight.
It appears that he could take an adult dose based on weight, but the liquid form might be best for him prescribed by a physician.
