I have an 8 month old that gave birth to three kittens yesterday,I have no idea when she was in heat and Ive had cats for over 50 yrs. Any way she doesn't seem to want to stay in with them wants us to give her all the attention,In fact she got in bed with us last night,I have now moved her into the master closet with door mostly shut. The other problem is I'm not sure she is nursing or knows how. I have been putting the kittens to the teats but they don't seem to attach.I'm not sure if she is having let down so the milk is there .How can I help her, Her teats are big ,most likely from milk .They are good health:confused:y meowing babies and I want them to stay that way.

Because she is so young her maternal instinnct probably hasn't kicked in.

You may have to look after the kittens yourself...

Go to your local pharmacy or vet and but the smallest bottle you can find and a teat with a tiny hole.
Get some kitten formula (powder or liquid) to feed the kittens. They will need to be fed every few hours.

You will also need to get a warm washcloth and wipe it over their anus and other bits to stimulate them into defacating and urinating...
Try to make sure the mother is watching you do this and hopefully she will take over...

If she' not nursing them you should go to a vet or pet store and get some kitten fomula.
