I am now 8 months pregnant and the father and I are not together. He is an alchohlic but is still in the picture with phone calls once in awile. I will not stop him from being with his child as long as he does not put them in harms way. If he desides to fight for cusoty (he makes much more than I do), how easy would it be for him to get custody? In your LEGAL opinion.

Stressed note: I will not deny him ANY rights to his child, I agree both parents should be there for their children, but I would want my child living with me.

I am also raising a 2 year old successfully without the bio father. Will that help in court?

I hope I was clear and gave enough information to get a helpful answer.(sorry for spelling)

If you can provide for the child, in a safe and nurturing environment, there is no reason why you would not retain custody. His making more money would not be an issue.

For a parent to lose custody, there usually has to be an issue of neglect, abuse, or not being able to properly care for the child due to the parent's behavior or lifestyle.
