I have a 20-year old Dacor glass cooktop and one of the burners sparks when the gas is turned off and no one is in the kitchen. I have been told by my repairman, and other parts and services companies, that the igniter I need -- Dacor 86046 -- is no longer available and there are no approved substitutions for it. Other than the sparking, the stove cooktop works perfectly. Any suggestions where I can find one or what I can substitute? I've called Dacor but they couldn't offer a solution.
Thanks,

Hi. I have the same problem and have had the same trouble finding the part and no help from Dacor. How did you resolve this issue? Did you have to replace the entire stove top? Thank you.

It seems as if spark ignition modues are avaiable. You MAY be able to get one to work.
Spark ignition module at TheFind.com - search, discover and compare prices (http://www.thefind.com/query.php?query=spark+ignition+module&filter%5Bcategoryorder%5D=DAEPBgoCDRUIBBgRGQkAAA%2 53D%253D&filter%5Bqpcookie%5D=%24%24K87ILy9ITE8tqSxItTXUAQA %3D&local=0&filter)[category]=appliances

This may make some sense: Frigidaire Gallery stove top spark module is - FixYa (http://www.fixya.com/support/t2697548-frigidaire_gallery_stove_top_spark)
The ignitor is still powered when the stve is off. Withut any schematic/wiring diagram, I can't really help.
Ignition switches under the control knobs.
