I've been tormented with this for a long time and hope someone can help. As a kid I watched a TV show in which a woman, I believe was a librarian, would be walking through a park and get chased down by a witch... The witch would take her back to her "place" and would not let her leave until she read a story. The witch would give her items that needed to be in the story, such as a shoe, or something. The librarian would then put a actual shoe into a machine and after it computed what was input into it... a book would be delivered out the other end and it would be a book that would involve the specific items that were put it... in my example, a shoe. After the story was read, then the librarian would be free to leave. The series always began with the librarian being caught by the witch and ending with her being free to leave after the story was finished.
