My adopted daughter is ten years old, she has been diagnosed with add, adhd and bi-polar disorder, she has melt downs and in the last couple of months they have beeen more violent then usual. She lies steals and has started to hit me and bite, when I try to restrain her so she does not hurt her self. I am 65yrs old and this is wearing on me, my daughter is actually mu great granddaughter by marriage, my son was married to her bio grandmother. She wants to be with her real mother and I have tried to make it happen but it has fallen through both times. She has abrother who is with his father and two little sisters. She goes to a dr. once a month and therapy everyweek. She is on meds every day that don't seem to help. I have not been able to get any help with her on mother's day I suffered a stroke while trying to keep her from hurting her self any advice? I feel I am not able to help her anymore.

Have you legally adopted her? Or do you just have guardianship?

What is the court order custody, if you actually adopted the child, no you can not just give up your rights

I suppose again it depends on your laws where you live. You can possibly hand her over to social services for them to deal with if you really feel you can't cope. It might be a better idea if your health is really failing like you say.
