How many psi do I need to test for leaking a new 25ft x ½” copper tube before to work with propane gas and for how long? (Minutes)

We should move you over to plumbing so some of the plumbers can give a peek, they do this all of the time.

Hi Freeboy:

In my area you would test propane with 10 PSI for 10 minutes... but you would also need a special pressure gauge that reads in 1/10th degree increments. I would think that if you put 10 PSI for 30 minutes and the gauge didn't move at all you will be fine.

However, if this is a new install with a new LP tank being delivered and set up be aware that some LP companies will not set up the LP tank unless they see an inspection certificate indicating that the gas line has been tested and approved by a local gas inspector.
