My car is a 1990 eagle talon tsi. Up until now I have not had any problems with the car outside of regular maintenance. Last night I was driving along when my car started to sputter. The sputter would start around 2000rpm. I thought that I may have had some buildup in my fuel pump so I changed that out. The problem still occurred. When I opened my hood I noticed that two of my plug wires had popped out. I tried driving again and shortly after I was driving I heard two pings which were the plug wires hitting my hood. I am hoping this problem is a relatively cheap and easy fix!
I talked to a friend and he said that I should mention that there is no oil in the plug chambers, no smoke coming from the oil cap area if I take the lid off and no smoke coming from the dipstick hole if I take the dipstick out when it is running.
Thank you for your help!
