My Kenmore Elite Oasis electric clothes dryer stopped mid cycle with the error code "F 40" flahsing. Have unplugged machine and tried several times with no luck - any suggestions?

I found two possibilities for an F40 code.

1) Error Code F40 is that the thermal fuse has blown.
2) The F40 error code is a communication problem between the machine control board and motor control board. A bad connection might or might not cause this.

If you post your model number, or download the owner's manual from the above link, you'll probably find out what it means, at least.

I'm having the same problem with my Kenmore Elite Oasis (model 110.6708), and the error code is not listed within the manual.

Given the model number, any help would be appreciated.
