I have an 11 year old male mix... part leonburger and don't know the other half. He's a big, sweet guy who had surgery last week (tues) to remove a growth on his upper gumline. It was cancerous. He's been getting predisone, and anti-biotics since. This morning, he had a seizure... it lasted only about 30 seconds or so. He had been outside but coming in he was walking jerky, he wandered a bit, and his limbs were stiff. He then laid down, we calmed him and he's been find since---for the last 30-40 minutes.
About 4 years ago, he had two seizures over about 8 months. I read somewhere to give him vit. C, and B6, which I did for quite a few months. He had swiped part of a chocolate cake off the island and I blamed that for the seizures back then. He's not had any until today.
There is an emergency vet about an hour from me (I live in the middle of nowwhere and my vet of course, is not in on a sunday). I'm trying to figure out if I should "wait and see" for the rest of the day and take him to my regular vet (although from reading, it's very possible he won't know why either), or just take him into the emergency vet now. Any suggestion/comment/advice would be very much appreciated.
