Hi I have a 2 year old daughter to my last relationship her father hasent seen her since she was 3 months old I have gave him plenty of opportunity but isn't interested yes his name is on the birth cirtificate but hasent got his last name my new partner who I am engaged to wants to adopt her he has been there since the day she was born and my daughter knows him as her daddy me and my partner have also got a baby of our own and we want to make things afficial for my daughter for her to take her brothers last name please help!

You need to be married to your boyfriend before he can legally adopt your daughter.

First most states will want you to be married for about a year first, but you will get an attorney, have the ex (bio father) sign over his rights to allow the adoption and the attorney does the paper work
